How to Pray: The Right Way
Everyday, in almost every moment, of our lives, we are praying. Praying for something in our lives. Here are few points to note when praying.

On the first day, a person prays, ‘Oh God! Please give me good health!’
On the second day, she prays again, ‘Oh God! Please give me good health!’
If you pray like this, even for years, you would not get good health or anything for that matter. This is because, by praying ‘God, give me good health!’ you are implicitly meaning that you are not in good health. By praying like this, the ‘lack’ of health would get imprinted in your subconscious mind without your knowledge.
Remember that praying is not begging, but receiving.
It means that don’t pray ‘I want good health’ , instead pray…
The moment you pray like this you are gifted with good health. Our subconscious mind also starts recognizing this and prepares ourselves for the condition of good health.
So, pray as if you already have it and express gratitude for the blessing thus received.
Here are a few examples.
Bad example: ‘God! have so much in debt. Give me more money and riches’
Note: By saying that you are meaning you don’t have wealth, you don’t have riches.
Good example: Instead pray, ‘God! I am filled with abundance & prosperity. Thank you for your blessings’
Bad: ‘God! Please remove the worries and fighting in my family and in my relationship’.
Note: By saying that you are meaning your family and relationship is full of worries and fights
Good: Instead pray, ‘God! My family and I are living in peace. Our relationships are loving and caring. Thank you for your blessings’
Bad: ‘God! My business is not getting anywhere. Please give me more ideas with make my business grow fast’
Note: By saying that you are already sealing that your business is not going anywhere and that you are not having any ideas to make it grow.
Good: Instead pray, ‘God! My mind is filled with so many brilliant ideas to make my business grow fast and wide. Thank you for your blessings’
Few more positive examples:
- God, I am a successful writer and a best-selling author. Thank you for your blessings
- God, Thank you for blessing me with such a loving and supporting life-partner. I feel so happy and joyful.
- I am filled with peace and calmth. Thank you God for your blessing!
You can pick and choose the format you like. Only thing you need to remember is that you need to pray that you have already received your blessings and that you feel immensely grateful for it.
So during your prayer, always have the feeling of abundance and contentment. Believe that you have everything you have. Imagine that you are filled with such abundance and say ‘Thank you’ , expressing your sincere gratitude for the same. With this understanding, you can seek good health, good relationships, mental peace, prosperity and wealth for yourself, your family and people around you.
Imagination (Bhavanai) and Faith (Nambikkai) are our two greatest gifts.
Use it in your prayer. And then surrender yourself — Total Surrender — to the Universe. Using this, everyone can live the life of an enlightened person.
So, from this moment onwards, stop asking that ‘You want this’ or ‘You want that’ to God! You already are blessed with it. Have total faith and surrender yourself to Him!
You shall always be filled with wellbeing, abundance and peace!
Let thy all be blessed!
Let thy all be in peace!
Love & gratitude,

Special Note: If you found the uncanny similarity between the ideas here to the Law of Attraction, then you are correct. While the concept of Law of Attraction might be new to the western world, the belief in prayer and asking and seeking has been existing forever in Indian religions and traditions.
